CITs develop
leadership skills and learn to help staff during our summer
sports and specialty camps. CITs must be accepted into the CIT
program and after their training must commit to help at three
weeks of camp during the summer. Applications are available at
the YMCA and are due by May 2, 2008.

Campers will
learn the proper procedures of babysitting. They will learn how
to care for children of various ages, how to change diapers and
how to respond in an emergency. Campers will also learn safety
skills, basic child development and how to interview for a
babysitting job. There will be opportunities to practice these
new skills in the YMCA nursery and Youth Zone under the
supervision of the babysitting counselor. At the end of the
class a Babysitting Certificate will be given. On Tuesday and
Thursday camp will close with one hour of free swim.
